The Assam government has set up 13 committees and assigned specific responsibilities to a group of ministers for the upcoming visit of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on July 1. Ministers have been designated to oversee key venues and areas in Guwahati, with the assistance of senior IAS and IPS officers. Transport Minister Charan Boro will manage arrangements at the LGBI Airport, while Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah and Agriculture Minister Pijush Hazarika will supervise the cultural corridor from the airport to Dharapur.
Pijush Hazarika is also responsible for the stretch from Hotel Taj Vivanta to Gateway of Guwahati and Lok Bhawan. Fishery Minister Nilima Devi will oversee Radisson Blu Hotel, and Finance Minister Ajanta Neog’s colleague Jayanta Malla Baruah will handle Hotel Taj Vivanta. Various other ministers have been assigned different areas of responsibility, including overseeing cultural programs, sanitation, and health services, among other logistical arrangements.
The government has formed 13 committees to manage various aspects of the visit, such as airport reception, security, traffic, and cultural programs. Senior bureaucrats and police officers have been appointed as venue in-charges and committee members to coordinate the preparations. All departments have been instructed to collaborate closely to ensure the visit’s success.
