Assam Minister Ashok Singhal expressed optimism about the National Democratic Alliance’s success in the state Assembly elections, anticipating over 100 seats out of the 126-member House. Singhal highlighted the anticipated overwhelming support from Assam’s residents on the result day of May 4.
Singhal predicted Himanta Biswa Sarma’s return as Assam’s Chief Minister for a third consecutive term, emphasizing the solid position of the BJP-led alliance throughout the state. He dismissed the Opposition’s chances of forming the government, stating that voters had already favored the NDA.
Recent projections for the Assam Assembly elections indicate a significant lead for the ruling alliance, with the BJP alliance expected to secure around 102 seats. The exit poll by Today’s Chanakya suggests that the Congress-led Opposition alliance may win 23 seats, while other parties are likely to have minimal representation.
The BJP alliance is projected to maintain power comfortably with an estimated 50% vote share, while the Congress-led bloc is expected to secure 38% of the votes. The projections indicate a strong backing for the ruling alliance, driven by organizational strength and welfare initiatives, although campaign dynamics and regional factors could still influence the final outcome.
