Australia’s fast bowler Megan Schutt announced that the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will mark her final major tournament. With 309 wickets in 240 matches across various formats since her debut in 2012, Schutt expressed her determination to win the upcoming World Cup, driven by a sense of revenge and competitiveness.
While Schutt has not set a specific retirement date, she acknowledged that the busy cricket schedule will eventually lead to her stepping down. She emphasized the importance of not overstaying her welcome and allowing the next generation to take over, recognizing the talent emerging in the sport.
Australia, eyeing a seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title, will kick off their campaign against South Africa on June 13 in Manchester. Ahead of the tournament, they are scheduled to play practice matches against South Africa and warm-up games against England and West Indies in Cardiff.
