The BCCI has provided a seven-page advisory to the 10 IPL franchises, cautioning them about the risks of targeted honey-trapping during the tournament. Emphasizing the need for strict compliance with the league’s regulations, surprise checks will be conducted to ensure adherence. Franchise management is urged to stay vigilant to prevent potential legal issues related to sexual misconduct.

The guidelines stress that no unauthorized individuals are allowed to enter a player’s or staff member’s hotel room without the team manager’s prior approval. Guests must be received only in designated public areas of the hotel, and any escort to private rooms requires written authorization from the Team Manager.

The BCCI may perform periodic checks to verify compliance with the guidelines, and Team Managers are instructed to maintain records of approved guest visits and hotel movements. Any breaches of the directives should be promptly reported to the IPL Operations Team or the relevant IPL Venue Team. The BCCI expects all IPL franchises to take these guidelines seriously to safeguard the integrity of the Indian Premier League.

In a separate incident, Rajasthan Royals’ captain Riyan Parag was reportedly spotted vaping in the dressing room during a match. The BCCI has warned that such actions are prohibited under Indian law and could lead to legal consequences. Owners are also advised against interacting with players or coaching staff in the dugout during matches to avoid disrupting team dynamics and match proceedings.
