Bhojpuri actor-politician Dinesh Lal Yadav, also known as Nirahua, has spoken out against the ongoing criticism faced by Bhojpuri cinema, citing concerns about the portrayal of women and the promotion of explicit content. Nirahua emphasized that it is unjust to judge an entire industry based on a few projects, highlighting the diverse range of content produced in both regional and national film sectors. He defended Bhojpuri cinema, stating that like other film industries, it caters to a wide audience spectrum, offering various genres and themes.
Addressing the common perception that Bhojpuri films predominantly showcase objectionable material, Nirahua clarified that this notion arises when only a specific type of film is spotlighted, overshadowing the broader spectrum of work within the industry. He stressed that every industry, including Bhojpuri cinema, has its share of both commendable and substandard productions, cautioning against generalizing based on isolated instances.
Nirahua underscored that imperfections exist in all sectors and should not serve as the sole criteria for evaluating an entire community. He highlighted the prevalence of both positive and negative aspects in every field, urging against forming judgments solely on highlighted shortcomings. The actor, renowned in the Bhojpuri film domain, has featured in several successful movies such as ‘Nirahua Rickshawala’, ‘Nirahua Hindustani’, and ‘Patna Se Pakistan’, among others.
His on-screen partnerships with actress Amrapali Dubey have garnered significant popularity among viewers. Beyond Bhojpuri cinema, Nirahua has extended his footprint into Hindi entertainment, recently impressing audiences with his performance in the web series ‘Gram Chikitsalaya’ Season 2, where his portrayal was well-received. The show, which also starred Amol Parashar, Vinay Pathak, and Akanksha Ranjan, garnered positive reviews from both the audience and critics alike.
