The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the Congress as it observed its 140th Foundation Day. BJP accused the Congress of lacking internal democracy and having a deteriorating party structure. During the celebrations, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized that the party embodies an enduring ideology that has played a pivotal role in India’s democratic growth.
Reacting to the event, BJP’s national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticized the Congress for celebrating its Foundation Day despite its alleged internal challenges. Bhatia specifically targeted Kharge, labeling him as the “remote-control president” and attributing controversial legacies to the Congress, including the partition and the 1984 riots.
Bhatia further criticized senior Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh and Shashi Tharoor for deviating from the party’s official stance. He accused the leadership of the Congress of being dictatorial and referred to them as the “fake Gandhis.” Bhatia urged the Congress to reflect on its shortcomings and align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India.
