BJP leaders criticized the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, accusing it of financial mismanagement. They called for the imposition of President’s Rule due to what they described as a deteriorating financial situation reflected in the state budget. BJP MP Harsh Mahajan highlighted the burden on people with heavy taxation on essentials like petrol and diesel.
Mahajan emphasized the financial emergency in Himachal Pradesh, stating that the people are suffering. He criticized the Congress for its inability to manage the situation effectively. The leaders also targeted Congress’s Rahul Gandhi, blaming his lack of vision for the challenges faced by Congress-ruled states.
Another BJP MP, Sikander Kumar, echoed concerns about Himachal Pradesh’s financial state. He contrasted it with the central government’s schemes that benefit states regardless of the ruling party. Kumar raised alarm over a significant reduction of Rs 4,000 crore in the state budget under the Congress government.
In response to Gandhi, Kumar urged him to guide his state leaders instead of causing disruptions in Parliament. BJP MP Madan Rathore criticized Gandhi for not following parliamentary procedures and suggested he raise issues through proper channels. The political exchanges between BJP and Congress in Himachal Pradesh have intensified over governance and economic matters.
