BJP leaders commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent state visit to Indonesia, emphasizing the deepening bonds between India and Indonesia, including cultural ties and the recognition accorded to him during the trip. Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi highlighted the longstanding civilizational and cultural connections between the two nations, pointing out the presence of ancient temples and heritage sites related to the Ramayana in Indonesia.
C.R. Kesavan, BJP National Spokesperson, noted Indonesia’s gesture of awarding its highest civilian honor to Prime Minister Modi as a sign of India’s increasing influence globally under his leadership. Kesavan mentioned that this move by Indonesia, a nation with an 87% Muslim majority, reaffirms the Prime Minister’s inclusive vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
Prime Minister Modi, in his social media posts, shared updates from his visit, describing the India-Indonesia friendship as robust and lively. He showcased various key moments from his engagements in Jakarta, including his ceremonial welcome, interactions with the Indian diaspora, and the honor bestowed upon him by Indonesia.
The state visit focused on enhancing cooperation between New Delhi and Jakarta across strategic, economic, and cultural domains. Both countries aimed to strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and collaborate in key sectors. The discussions between Prime Minister Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto encompassed diverse areas such as defence exports, maritime connectivity, critical minerals, digital infrastructure, and trade.
