BJP National General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Radhamohan Das Agrawal raised concerns about the alleged inappropriate filling of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms at religious sites and locations suggested by Congress leaders. Agrawal, speaking at a press conference in Bengaluru, accused the Congress of politicizing the SIR exercise by filling forms collectively at these places.
He stated that the Election Commission was informed by the BJP about Booth Level Officers (BLOs) not following the mandated procedure of visiting households to distribute forms. Agrawal emphasized that the BJP had trained its Booth Level Agent-2 (BLA-2) workers for the SIR process and criticized the state government for not utilizing these workers effectively.
Agrawal also mentioned that the BJP had taken steps to address internal party matters and had established a coordination committee involving key members like BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi. Responding to questions, he expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections and claimed that the Opposition’s actions were inadvertently benefiting the BJP.
