With trends indicating a significant lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, Assam, and Pondicherry, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi emphasized that the INDIA bloc should take note of the mandate. Joshi highlighted the results as a significant development, particularly in the context of West Bengal, emphasizing that the people have voted against appeasement, illegal infiltration, and misuse of resources.
He criticized the Trinamool Congress and other parties in the INDI alliance for allegedly allowing illegal infiltrators into the country, leading to activities like terrorism. Joshi pointed out that this rejection of the Trinamool Congress by the people of West Bengal signifies a shift towards good governance and better administration, rejecting hooliganism and lawlessness.
The Union Minister noted that this election outcome marks a historic moment as it will be the first time a BJP-led government will be established in West Bengal. He further stated that the rejection of parties like Congress, CPI-M, and Trinamool Congress in various states is a result of their negative approach and appeasement tactics. As per the latest updates, the BJP is leading in a significant number of seats in West Bengal, as per the Election Commission of India’s data.
In Kerala, the Congress-led United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ended the CPI-M-led Left alliance’s decade-long rule. Joshi also highlighted the BJP’s victory in the Assam Assembly polls under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership, terming it as a historic moment. He praised PM Modi’s leadership and the public’s support for the BJP in Assam for the third consecutive term. Additionally, Joshi mentioned the overwhelming support for the NDA in Pondicherry, despite being a small union territory.
