Hollywood actress Brooke Shields recently shared a frightening experience she had with a primate while vacationing in Thailand. She recounted being chased out of the sea by an aggressive monkey during her time there. Shields, known for her roles in “Pretty Baby” and “The Blue Lagoon,” discussed this incident at Animal Haven’s 2026 Benefit for the Animals in New York, where she attended with her daughter Rowan.
Rowan, who accompanied her mother to the event, narrated the incident where the monkey attacked Shields while they were in Thailand. Despite Brooke’s efforts to offer the monkey food to calm it down, the situation quickly escalated, leading to their hasty departure from the island. Shields humorously mentioned that she had never seen anyone swim faster and attempted to appease the monkey with bananas.
The encounter highlighted the strong bond Brooke shares with her daughters, particularly Rowan and Grier Henchy. Brooke Shields has been open about her experiences with motherhood and the adjustments she faced when her daughters went off to university.
