Five individuals tragically lost their lives, and numerous others sustained injuries when a bus, carrying passengers from Delhi to Bihar, overturned in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. The incident, which occurred within the Auras Police Station jurisdiction, involved a bus with over 30 passengers on board. While five passengers died at the scene, many others suffered severe injuries after being thrown off the expressway.
Upon receiving the news, police and rescue teams promptly arrived at the site to assist. The critically injured individuals have been transferred to the Lucknow Trauma Centre for further medical attention. Initial investigations by the police suggest that the accident was a result of the driver falling asleep at the wheel.
The mishap took place at the 262-kilometre mark of the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, under the jurisdiction of the Auras police station. In a separate incident, four pilgrims lost their lives, and three others sustained serious injuries when a car heading to Kainchi Dham collided with the rear of a trailer on the Sultanpur-Lucknow Expressway in Barabanki.
The collision occurred near Bhikhra village in the Haidergarh Police Station area around 2:00 a.m. The car was extensively damaged in the crash, and the injured individuals were first taken to the Community Health Centre before being referred to the KGMU Trauma Centre for advanced treatment. These accidents follow a recent tragedy in Barabanki on May 23, where a speeding dumper truck ran over four family members, including three children, who were sleeping by the roadside.
This incident happened on the Fatehpur-Bhanoli road near Jhansa village, within the Fatehpur Kotwali police station area of Barabanki. The accident resulted in the death of a man and his three children, while his wife and the children’s mother sustained severe injuries.
