California Governor Gavin Newsom has made several appointments within state agencies, with Indian American business executive Yogesh “Yogi” Chugh being appointed to the Structural Pest Control Board. Chugh, a resident of Fremont, has a background as an Executive Managing Director of S5 Advisory since 2013. He previously held positions at PlayStation and Sony Computer Entertainment Media Inc.
Chugh’s experience includes roles such as Senior Leadership Customer Relationship Management Technologies and Consumer Services Leadership Management. Additionally, he served as a Business Services Manager at Boston Consulting Group. Chugh is also involved with organizations like the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs and the Foundation for India and Diaspora Studies.
Furthermore, Chugh holds degrees from California State University, San Jose, and Delhi University. His appointment to the Structural Pest Control Board does not require Senate confirmation and comes with a compensation of $100 per diem. Governor Newsom also announced other key appointments in housing, finance, and data agencies in California.
Subbarao Mupparaju of Sacramento was appointed as the Director of the Financial Information System for California, known as FISCal. Mupparaju has a background as the Chief Deputy Director of the Financial Information System for California. He previously held positions such as Chief Information Officer in various departments and served in roles at HP Enterprise Services and IBM.
Mupparaju’s professional journey also includes being a Senior Systems Analyst for Tata Consultancy Services. He holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the PSG College of Technology. California, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley, has a significant Indian American population contributing to various sectors like technology, business, and public affairs.
