The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) manager in Hazaribagh for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. The CBI initiated action following a complaint that the manager demanded the bribe to allow work that had already been assigned to proceed.
The agency conducted a swift operation and caught the accused, Ravi Ranjan Kumar, red-handed while accepting the bribe. This successful trap confirmed the allegations, leading to the immediate arrest of the accused.
Officials emphasized that this action underscores the CBI’s commitment to fighting corruption in public sector organizations and ensuring accountability among government officials. The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to prevent malpractice and enhance transparency in administrative procedures.
The CBI has stated that the case is actively under investigation, with further inquiries ongoing to determine if others were involved or if there is a broader pattern of corruption associated with the accused. Legal actions have not been ruled out as the investigation progresses.
