In Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, a Centre of Excellence for e-Governance has been set up at the DC Office Complex to enhance digital governance and citizen services. This center, functioning as a Model Common Service Centre (CSC), offers guidance and immediate enrollment for various financial inclusion and social security schemes like Atal Pension Yojana, PM Jan Jeevan Yojana, and others. Dr. Javid Maqbool, District Manager CSC SPV Kupwara, emphasized the significance of digital empowerment through this initiative, aiming to provide transparent and efficient service delivery.
The Centre of Excellence collaborates with Common Service Centres in the district to ensure smooth service delivery at the grassroots level. Trained Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) assist citizens with registrations, transactions, and awareness about government welfare schemes. Workers at the center, like Mushtaq Ahmad, have noted a positive response from the public, especially from remote areas, who now find it easier to access government services, saving time and money. Local residents, including Mohammad Rafiq, appreciate the center for simplifying access to government schemes without unnecessary delays.
Officials believe that the Centre of Excellence for e-Governance will help bridge the digital gap in Kupwara and improve the last-mile delivery of government services.
