The Chhattisgarh government recently made changes in its administrative setup by transferring three IAS officers to key positions in education, urban development, and district administration. These shifts are anticipated to impact policy execution and operational effectiveness in the respective departments.
Kiran Kaushal, an IAS officer from the 2009 batch, has been designated as the Commissioner of Samagra Shiksha, the state’s holistic education initiative. Additionally, she has been assigned the role of Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation.
Another 2009-batch IAS officer, Avnish Kumar Sharan, has been given added responsibilities in urban planning and governance. Apart from his current roles as Commissioner of Town and Country Planning and Commissioner of the Housing Board, he will now serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Raipur Development Authority, overseeing infrastructure projects and urban development in Raipur.
In a significant move, Akash Chhikara, a 2017-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Collector of Bastar district, a region known for its administrative challenges. This decision is seen as crucial for enhancing governance in one of Chhattisgarh’s strategically important areas.
