A tragic incident occurred on National Highway-46B in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district early Wednesday, resulting in the death of two individuals, including a child, and injuring three others. The collision between a truck and a parked dumper took place around 4 a.m. on the Midghat stretch of the highway, causing significant damage to both vehicles and temporarily blocking the road.
According to police reports, the dumper had stopped due to a mechanical issue, and as the driver was repairing it, a truck approaching from behind crashed into it. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the fatalities of Pradeep, 30, from Bagoli village, and Rajveer, 8, from Parasia.
The injured individuals from the vehicles were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities from the Budhni police station responded to the scene, rescued the injured parties, and ensured the damaged vehicles were removed from the highway to restore traffic flow after several hours.
An investigation has been initiated by the police to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident. The probe will focus on assessing whether proper traffic safety measures, such as warning signs and reflectors, were in place around the stationary dumper following its breakdown.
