China secured a 3-0 victory over South Korea in the men’s quarterfinals at the 2026 ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals. Wang Chuqin, the world No. 1, led China to victory with a five-game win over Oh Jun-sung, avenging their previous group stage loss. Wang’s stellar performance included an 11-1 victory in the second game.
In a closely contested match, Wang had a 3-1 win-loss record against Oh, with his only defeat dating back to the 2024 Asian Championships. Despite Oh’s comeback attempts in the third game, Wang maintained his composure and secured the win with an 11-7 victory in the fifth game. China’s Lin Shidong and Liang Jingkun also contributed to the team’s success with impressive performances.
China’s victory sets up a semifinal clash against either France or Brazil. Meanwhile, Japan also emerged victorious, defeating Ukraine 3-0 and advancing to the women’s semifinals to face Germany.
