A city court in Hyderabad has remanded suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police Sankireddy Bheem Reddy to judicial custody for 14 days. This action follows his arrest by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly possessing illegal assets valued at around Rs.300 crore. The ACB arrested him after conducting searches at various locations associated with him.
Bheem Reddy, who served at Police Computer Services (PCS), was taken into custody from his residence in Vessella Meadows, Ibrahimbagh. The ACB has accused him of accumulating assets beyond his known income sources through corrupt practices during his tenure. The agency conducted simultaneous searches at his residence and 15 other places linked to his acquaintances in Telangana and Karnataka.
During the searches, the ACB seized assets estimated to be worth Rs.300 crore. These assets include properties such as residential houses, flats, commercial spaces, agricultural lands, and various plots across different locations. Additionally, cash amounting to approximately Rs.3.60 lakh, gold ornaments, silver articles, and bank balances of nearly Rs.19.91 lakh were recovered.
The investigation intensified after the recovery of a personal diary belonging to the accused officer. This diary, written before his pilgrimage trip in May, reportedly detailed his properties, investments, liabilities, and names of alleged benamis. The officer allegedly shared scanned copies of this diary with his sons through WhatsApp before embarking on the pilgrimage.
