A Class 10 student at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharkhand, was reportedly subjected to a brutal assault by fellow students inside the school hostel. The incident, which involved the victim being partially stripped and assaulted, was recorded on video and shared online.
The assault, stemming from a dispute over a mobile phone money transaction among students, led to the victim being beaten with belts after his hands were tied. The perpetrators allegedly coerced him to undress, filmed the assault, and threatened him against revealing the incident.
The victim, a resident of a village in Govindpur police station limits, initially kept silent about the ordeal due to fear and pressure. It was only after two days, when his condition deteriorated, that he confided in his family, leading to his medical treatment at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad.
The incident has sparked concern within the school community, with the victim’s family advocating for strict legal action against the culprits. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter, examining all facets of the case to ensure justice is served.
