Demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Congress raised concerns about the CBSE penalizing the contractor responsible for issues in the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Congress MP Jairam Ramesh emphasized the need for Minister Pradhan to step down, citing a lack of accountability in the government.
The CBSE faced criticism after acknowledging flaws in the OSM system, including cybersecurity vulnerabilities and compromised processes. Despite these issues, questions were raised about the Board’s lenient stance towards the contractor, COEMPT, involved in the flawed process.
Ramesh highlighted discrepancies in CBSE’s actions, noting the removal of provisions to blacklist vendors who failed to deliver effectively. He criticized the government’s apparent efforts to shield COEMPT, suggesting a lack of transparency and accountability in the contract dealings.
The Congress continued its attack on Minister Pradhan, accusing his ministry of allowing irregularities and neglecting student welfare. The party condemned the Minister for prioritizing political interests over national responsibilities, leading to disruptions in the education system and student well-being.
