Allegations of financial mismanagement in the construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple have surfaced, with AICC Media and Publicity Department Chairman, Pawan Khera, calling for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation. Khera criticized the Prime Minister and RSS for their silence following corruption accusations despite initially taking credit for the temple’s construction.
Khera claimed that Larsen & Toubro’s offer to build the temple for free was rejected, resulting in a cost of Rs 2,100 crore for its construction. He further alleged discrepancies in expenditure, citing the construction of a non-existent cow shelter at the temple.
Accusing the RSS and BJP of inadequate financial transparency, Khera demanded a thorough probe into the temple’s funding and expenditure. He proposed the dissolution of the current Trust, which he claimed was influenced by RSS members, in favor of a new Trust managed by devotees and Shankaracharyas.
Khera emphasized the need for a credible investigation, suggesting a Supreme Court judge-led inquiry with digital and forensic scrutiny of donations and land transactions related to the temple. He also questioned the whereabouts of 200 kilograms of silver donated to the temple.
