The suspense over the Congress’ selection for the next Chief Minister of Kerala persists following extensive discussions at Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge’s residence in New Delhi. The final decision is expected to be made by Congress President Kharge and senior party leader Rahul Gandhi, with an official announcement to follow. Key Kerala Congress leaders, including V.D. Satheesan, K.C. Venugopal, and Ramesh Chennithala, participated in the meeting to finalize the leadership transition after the party’s impressive performance in the state.
Despite the prolonged talks and consultations, the party refrained from disclosing a decision, hinting at the possibility of further internal deliberations. AICC general secretary Deepa Dasmunshi mentioned that the announcement could be made anytime before May 23, emphasizing that the party leadership was meticulously assessing all aspects before reaching a conclusion.
