The counter-narcotics police in Nimroz province, western Afghanistan, have uncovered a significant amount of illicit materials during recent operations. This includes 84 kg of opium, 130 kg of methamphetamine, and over 200 kg of other illegal substances used in the production of drugs. Additionally, seven individuals have been arrested for their alleged involvement in drug smuggling activities in the region.
Police authorities in Badakhshan province publicly destroyed 730 kg of opium as part of their efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking. In a separate incident in Takhar province, Afghan police confiscated 60 kg of illicit drugs and apprehended two suspected drug smugglers. The individuals were found with 52 kg of opium and 8 kg of hashish hidden in a vehicle.
Furthermore, security forces in Ghazni province intercepted a major drug-trafficking operation, seizing 215 kg of opium. In Helmand province, south of Afghanistan, a drug-processing lab was discovered and destroyed by the counter-narcotics police. The authorities also confiscated a large quantity of materials used in the production of illegal drugs from the site.
