Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan mentioned that MS Dhoni, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter, is anticipated to participate in all matches of the upcoming IPL season. The 19th edition of the IPL is scheduled to commence on March 28, with franchises already engaged in training camps to gear up for the lucrative tournament. Despite concerns about Dhoni’s age, Kasi dismissed them, affirming that Dhoni will feature in all games.
With the IPL 2026 approaching, questions arose regarding Dhoni’s role in the team, especially with the inclusion of another keeper-batter, Samson. Kasi clarified that the decision on Dhoni’s role, whether as a batsman, wicketkeeper-batter, or impact player, rests with the cricketing staff. The tournament’s schedule is expected to be unveiled soon, with CSK slated to play all their home matches in Chennai, as confirmed by Kasi.
Expressing pride in CSK players Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube for their stellar performances in India’s T20 World Cup triumph, Kasi highlighted their contributions. He emphasized the confidence gained from their success and expressed optimism about their performance for CSK. Regarding the players’ preparations, Kasi mentioned that the practice sessions are progressing smoothly without any issues.
