The Delhi BJP criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for burning a newspaper as a symbolic protest against unfavorable media coverage. Delhi BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor denounced AAP Convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj’s action during a press conference, labeling it as an expression of an anarchist mindset. Kapoor highlighted the unprecedented nature of a political leader publicly burning a newspaper in Delhi’s political history.

Burning a newspaper was deemed a reprehensible act by Kapoor, who likened it to the alleged media suppression by the AAP government in Punjab, particularly targeting a specific media group. He accused the Arvind Kejriwal government of pressuring the media for 11 years to limit BJP’s coverage and criticized AAP leaders for attempting to coerce the media through such actions. The Delhi BJP strongly condemned Bharadwaj’s act, warning of a potential resurgence of media suppression if AAP regains power.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP of double standards regarding a private school in south Delhi that reportedly withheld students’ board examination admit cards. Sachdeva pointed out that Bharadwaj protested at APJ School in Saket over the alleged withholding, despite the school being permitted by the Kejriwal and Atishi governments to raise fees in subsequent academic years. Sachdeva criticized AAP leaders for their swift political shifts, comparing them to chameleons in their adaptability.
