Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and city Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Harsh Malhotra, along with party members and MPs, participated in a drive to clean the banks of the Yamuna river. Stressing the importance of a clean Yamuna for a healthy capital and secure future, Speaker Gupta highlighted the need to restore the river’s glory. Malhotra commended the efforts of BJP MPs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Manoj Tiwari, and Swati Maliwal in the cleanliness campaign.
The campaign, aimed at promoting public participation in environmental conservation, received support from various leaders including Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma. Verma emphasized the cultural, spiritual, and historical significance of the Yamuna for Delhi and underscored the collective responsibility to ensure its cleanliness and rejuvenation. The initiative, part of the Yamuna Swachhta Abhiyan, marked 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Acknowledging the intrinsic link between the Yamuna and the pride of Delhi’s residents, Speaker Gupta led the Yamuna Bank Cleanliness Drive near Purana Loha Pul. The event witnessed a massive turnout of Delhiites from diverse backgrounds, showcasing a shared commitment towards the river’s well-being. Minister Parvesh Verma praised the public’s active involvement, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration between citizens and authorities for a cleaner and more beautiful Yamuna.
