Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated that the party acknowledges the court’s directive regarding the removal of a video associated with Leader of Opposition Atishi’s comments in the city Assembly. However, he criticized AAP leaders for distorting facts in this regard.
Sachdeva emphasized the BJP’s compliance with court orders but expressed disappointment over the AAP-led Punjab government’s petition in the Jalandhar court. The petition aimed to remove the video from social media platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram, citing concerns about potential unrest in Punjab.
The Delhi BJP President raised questions about the lack of involvement of Delhi BJP leaders in the case despite their sharing of the video clip. He highlighted the court’s decision to block the video based solely on the Punjab government’s claims, without conducting an independent assessment of the content.
Sachdeva criticized the Punjab government and AAP leaders for misinterpreting the court’s ruling, alleging that the video was deemed fake. He suggested that instead of misrepresenting the court’s order, AAP leaders should urge Atishi to issue a public apology for her controversial statements.
