Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the 59th Flower, Fruit, and Vegetable Show organized by the All India Kitchen Garden Association. She commended the participants for their efforts in promoting kitchen gardening and advocating for a greener lifestyle in the national capital. Gupta shared her positive experience at the exhibition on social media platform X, describing it as beautiful and inspiring.

The Chief Minister expressed her support for the initiative, highlighting its significance in promoting kitchen gardening and its benefits for every household. She emphasized that kitchen gardening is not merely a hobby but a powerful tool to nurture healthy families, provide pure food, and encourage a sustainable lifestyle. Gupta extended her heartfelt congratulations to both the organizers and participants for their dedication.

During her address at the event, Chief Minister Gupta emphasized the personal importance of the subject to her. She acknowledged meeting with the organizers earlier and had promised to attend the exhibition. Gupta praised the dedication of the participants, noting their commitment to nature despite the fast-paced modern lifestyle. She appreciated the creativity and hard work displayed in the exhibition, emphasizing the beauty of the plants showcased.

Gupta lauded the participants as “air savers” and “warriors” for their efforts in contributing oxygen to the city through small yet impactful actions. She contrasted their dedication to preserving green spaces with the trend of urban commercialization. The Chief Minister also highlighted the Delhi government’s dedication to expanding green cover, mentioning the notification of 4,200 hectares of ridge area as forest land and plans for an additional 2,000 hectares in the future.

The annual exhibition featured a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, flowering plants, and innovative kitchen garden models. It attracted gardening enthusiasts and environmental advocates from across the city, showcasing the importance of sustainable practices and green living.
