In a strong display of commitment to good governance, the Delhi Government has swiftly acted against serious irregularities found at the Central Procurement Agency’s stores. Following Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s direct orders, five pharmacists and two senior officials have been immediately suspended. An extensive review exposed significant lapses and irregularities in the agency’s procurement and management processes.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, known for her zero-tolerance stance on corruption, personally oversaw the initial findings and instructed senior officials to take immediate action. The Delhi Government’s firm stand against corruption aims to ensure accountability and transparency in public institutions. The Central Procurement Agency’s role in the healthcare supply chain makes these actions crucial for maintaining public health services.

The suspended employees are prohibited from office access pending a detailed inquiry to uncover the full extent of irregularities and any potential broader network involved. Further disciplinary measures, including legal actions and criminal cases, may be pursued based on the investigation’s outcomes. Government representatives stress that such decisive steps are essential to safeguard the integrity of public systems and deter malpractices.
