A new Single Window Clearance System has been initiated by Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu to enhance Ease of Living through the Delhi Development Authority (DDA)’s Online Building Permit System (OBPS). This system aims to streamline building approvals, making the process faster, transparent, and citizen-centric, thereby reducing red tape and corruption issues. The Lieutenant Governor’s directive led to the launch of this system to address previous inefficiencies.
The new system offers citizens, homeowners, architects, and developers an integrated platform for processing building permissions and approvals. Through online submission of documents and No Objection Certificates (NOCs), the system simplifies procedures and minimizes the need for physical visits to DDA offices. It also allows real-time tracking of application status, online fee payments, and receipt of digitally signed approvals without multiple office visits.
By incorporating AI-based plan scrutiny, automated compliance checks, geo-tagged mobile inspections, and instant notifications via SMS and email, the system aims to reduce manual intervention, procedural delays, and errors. This initiative signifies a significant step towards modernizing Delhi’s urban planning and development by leveraging technology for governance reforms and efficient public service delivery.
The Single Window Clearance System is anticipated to revolutionize the efficiency, transparency, and convenience of building permissions administration in Delhi. Regular reviews by the Lieutenant Governor, his Secretariat, and DDA officials will ensure the system’s effectiveness and continuous improvement.
