Delhi Police’s Anti Auto Theft Squad in the South District apprehended two suspects believed to be part of the infamous ‘Thak-Thak’ gang. The arrests led to the recovery of stolen cash, jewelry, electronic devices, burglary tools, and a two-wheeler allegedly used in the crimes.
The operation also unveiled three burglary and theft cases reported in Delhi and the National Capital Region. The accused, Gangesh Naydu (40) and Vikram (33), both residents of Dakshinpuri, Ambedkar Nagar, are known habitual offenders with past criminal involvements in Delhi, Haryana, and Karnataka.
Following specific intelligence on the movement of the gang members, the arrests were made on June 30 after a strategic trap was set based on secret information. The police recovered a significant amount of stolen goods, including cash, laptops, mobile phones, jewelry, and burglary tools.
The suspects were identified as active members of the ‘Thak-Thak’ gang, known for targeting individuals carrying valuables. The gang employed distraction techniques to steal bags and valuables from vehicles before escaping on a scooty. Efforts are ongoing to identify other gang members and link the recovered items to additional criminal cases.
