Two Delhi Police constables, Angad Singh Meena and Manish Kumar, were recently promoted for their courageous acts during a hotel fire in Malviya Nagar and a building collapse in Saket. The promotions were awarded by Police Commissioner Satish Golchha in recognition of their bravery in saving lives during these tragic incidents.
The felicitation ceremony took place at the Police Headquarters in the capital, where the constables were commended for their exceptional service and dedication to duty. Additionally, several other police personnel from the South District were honored with the prestigious Asadharan Karya Puraskar and a cash reward for their bravery during a major fire at the Flourish Stay hotel in Malviya Nagar.
During the building collapse in Saidulajab, six individuals lost their lives, and many others were injured. Despite the risks involved, Delhi Police personnel ventured into the debris to rescue those trapped, displaying remarkable courage and commitment to their duty. The prompt and coordinated efforts of the police, along with other emergency services, led to the successful rescue of multiple individuals, including foreign nationals.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also recognized the bravery of rescuers and locals involved in the recent tragedies, honoring them for their selfless acts of heroism. At a special event held at the Delhi Secretariat, she acknowledged the efforts of citizens, police personnel, and rescue workers who risked their lives to save others, presenting them with commendation certificates and financial rewards.
