Delhi Pro Volleyball League (DPVL) has started conducting player trials for its first season, with the initial phase set for May 24 in Delhi. The league plans to hold these trials in stages to ensure broad participation and talent discovery across various regions and categories. The first phase of trials for the Delhi Pro Volleyball League will kick off on May 24 at Laxmi Public School in Karkardooma.
Following the conclusion of all trial phases, selected players will be included in the official auction pool. In this pool, the six DPVL franchise teams will choose players for the league’s inaugural season. Neeti Rawat, the founder of DPVL, expressed enthusiasm about the overwhelming response received during the registration process. Registrations have poured in from over 20 states, showcasing the league’s rapid progress since its launch.
The objective of these trials is to spot and nurture talented volleyball players, offering them a chance to compete professionally. DPVL, established earlier this year with the support of the Delhi Volleyball Association and the Delhi Olympic Association, aims to build a sustainable ecosystem for volleyball in India. The Delhi Pro Volleyball League will consist of six franchise teams participating in a professional league structure, with the first season scheduled for later this year. The league’s mission is to enhance the status of volleyball in India through organized competitions, player development, and increased media exposure.
