Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh has spoken out about the recent controversy surrounding flags and banners at his concerts. Dosanjh clarified that his concern was not with the flags themselves but with the motives behind them. During a concert in Calgary earlier this month, he paused his performance to address individuals displaying pro-Khalistan flags, asking them to relocate the flags, emphasizing the intended purpose of the venue.
Dosanjh explained that the flags were removed to prevent disruption of the concert and to protest against him. He labeled the situation as a “fake narrative” in his stories section, asserting his stance against any attempts to harass his fans or disturb his shows. Writing in Punjabi, he emphasized that while protests outside are acceptable, any efforts to trouble his fans inside the venue will not be tolerated.
The singer further elaborated that using the same banner to harass his fans both outside and inside the venue is unacceptable to him. Dosanjh emphasized that his concern is not about specific flags or banners but about the underlying intentions behind them. He made it clear that he instructed security to remove anyone attempting to disrupt the event and emphasized his commitment to avoiding such discussions, concluding with a message of gratitude and peace.
