Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam organized a special VIP break darshan for 116-year-old Navaneethamma, who impressed many by trekking to Tirumala on foot. TTD chairman B.R. Naidu mentioned that the temple facilitated this unique darshan for the elderly devotee from Tamil Nadu and her family.
During the darshan, Vedic scholars at Ranganayakula Mandapam blessed Navaneethamma, adorned her with a silk cloth, and offered sacred prasadam. TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra also sought her blessings and expressed gratitude towards her.
The centenarian’s grandson, Dikpati, expressed his appreciation to TTD and its chairman for fulfilling his grandmother’s wish and allowing the entire family to have the darshan of the Lord. The TTD chairman acknowledged the support from his social media friends in recognizing Navaneethamma and the prompt action taken by TTD Vigilance officers.
Navaneethamma reached the hill shrine after conquering the Alipiri footpath, which consists of approximately 3,550 steps through the Seshachalam hills. A video capturing her trek went viral on social media, drawing widespread admiration.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, in a social media post, expressed his admiration for the 116-year-old woman’s devotion in trekking to Tirumala for worship. He emphasized that age is no barrier to genuine faith.
Later, the TTD chairman announced a special darshan for Navaneethamma and her family members, lauding her unwavering devotion and inspiring journey to seek the blessings of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy.
