The Election Commission of India has released the final electoral roll for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, totaling 2,58,040 eligible voters. The revision exercise led to the removal of ineligible voters, such as deceased individuals and duplicate enrollments, ensuring an accurate database. The electoral roll revision, conducted from October 27, 2025, to February 21, 2026, involved thorough physical verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to maintain data accuracy. The initial voter count of 3,10,404 significantly decreased during the enumeration phase, with 64,014 ineligible names removed in the draft roll published on December 23, 2025.
The final electoral roll highlights various voter segments, including 4,070 first-time voters aged 18-19, 2,255 persons with disabilities (PwD), and 679 elderly electors above 85 years. The updated roll is available for public inspection at polling stations and voter facilitation centers for a week, with EPIC cards being distributed to eligible voters.
