The Embassy of Israel in New Delhi recently hosted the official launch of the book ‘Budo for Life’ by Sensei Eyal Nir, a renowned martial artist, leadership mentor, and technology executive. The event, graced by Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, saw the author presenting the first copy of the book to the envoy, marking its official release.
‘Budo,’ often interpreted as the ‘martial way,’ represents a comprehensive and philosophical approach to martial arts deeply ingrained in Japanese culture. It goes beyond mere combat techniques to encompass spiritual and ethical dimensions, emphasizing self-improvement, discipline, and a path towards enlightenment.
Sensei Eyal Nir explained that ‘Budo for Life’ is not just about self-defense through traditional Japanese martial arts but serves as a life tool applicable to personal, professional, and daily routines. Drawing on centuries of Budo wisdom, the book is designed for anyone to integrate its principles into modern-day life for holistic growth.
Nir highlighted the distinctions between Budo and yoga, noting that while Budo focuses on self-defense and often involves partner practice, yoga is more individual-centered, emphasizing self-reflection and internal awareness. He emphasized that Budo’s structured system, comprising five phases and ten tools, offers concrete guidance for individuals seeking to enhance their skills and apply them in real-life situations.
