Entrepreneur Vishal Haldar, hailing from Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, has initiated a herbal revolution in Bastar by repurposing wild date palm seeds, locally known as ‘Chhind,’ into a unique caffeine-free herbal coffee.
Having a background in commerce and software development, Haldar decided to explore the potential of the indigenous “Chhind” plant in Bacheli, deviating from a conventional corporate career. His innovative approach involves utilizing the previously disregarded seeds of the wild palm, which were typically left unused in the forests.
By combining modern research techniques with local natural resources, Haldar has successfully crafted a beverage that captures the essence and tradition of coffee without the caffeine-induced side effects, offering a healthier alternative.
This groundbreaking creation gained significant acclaim at the Innovation Mahakumbh event held at Shaheed Mahendra Karma University in Jagdalpur, where it clinched the top prize and received recognition from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
