On the first day of the Delhi Assembly’s Winter Session, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticized AAP legislators for wearing masks, calling it a tactic to avoid discussing air pollution due to Arvind Kejriwal’s alleged failures over the past 11 years. Sirsa highlighted the Opposition’s use of expensive masks as a sign of hypocrisy, pointing out their lack of significant contributions to improving Delhi’s air quality despite holding key positions previously.
The Assembly’s first day saw theatrics and gimmicks as AAP members wore masks to draw attention to the city’s air pollution problem. Sirsa emphasized that while the Opposition focused on appearances, the current government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has made progress that the AAP government failed to achieve during its long tenure. He accused the AAP of trying to divert attention from their past shortcomings by engaging in dramatic displays rather than factual discussions.
Sirsa reiterated that discussions on pollution are scheduled for the ongoing Winter Session, with CM Rekha Gupta confirming the same. He emphasized the significant improvement in Delhi’s air quality under Gupta’s leadership, attributing it to the government’s sustained efforts and scientific pollution control strategies. The Minister criticized the AAP for attempting to stay in the limelight through theatrics, knowing that their past record would be exposed during the discussions.
