Explosions were heard in various Iranian provinces on Friday night following the announcement of a new series of strikes against Iran by the US Central Command (CENTCOM). The semi-official Mehr news agency mentioned explosions in Bushehr province, as well as Sirik and Qeshm counties in Hormozgan province, with no specific information available yet regarding targets, casualties, or damage caused.
Additionally, the official IRNA news agency reported five blasts in Iran’s central Yazd province. CENTCOM, in a social media post on Friday night, stated that the strikes against Iran were initiated for the seventh consecutive night, aiming to continue diminishing Iranian military capabilities. These strikes are part of ongoing efforts to degrade Iran’s military capabilities, according to CENTCOM.
Late Thursday, CENTCOM disclosed that US forces, including fighter jets, drones, and warships, conducted precise strikes on numerous Iranian military targets. These targets included coastal surveillance and air defense sites, military logistics infrastructure, and maritime assets. Notably, the surveillance tower at Chah Bahar Shahid Kalantari Port, utilized by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps to monitor and target commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, was among the locations struck.
Moreover, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its forces had targeted a depot housing US unmanned surface vessels in Bahrain, destroying a significant number of them. The IRGC’s retaliatory missile and drone strikes also hit the primary artificial intelligence center in Bahrain, which the United States allegedly used for target detection and questionable activities, completely obliterating it. In a separate incident, the IRGC’s air defense forces downed an AeroVironment RQ-11 Raven drone over Ramshir County in Iran’s Khuzestan province.
