External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has wrapped up his visit to Kuwait and has now landed in Oman. He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome received from Sheikh Ahmed Al Maskari, Director General of Oman’s Foreign Ministry upon his arrival in Oman. During his time in Kuwait, Jaishankar met with Kuwait’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, discussing various aspects of cooperation between the two countries. The discussions included topics such as energy, trade, investments, defence, technology, food security, and health domains.
Jaishankar’s agenda in Kuwait also involved meetings focusing on defense industry cooperation and maritime security. He took the opportunity to engage with the Indian community in Kuwait, acknowledging their significant role in strengthening the bond between India and Kuwait. The Minister appreciated the community’s contributions and shared insights into India’s developmental journey and global aspirations.
Following his engagements in Kuwait and Oman, Jaishankar is set to travel to New York to kick off India’s official campaign for the UN Security Council tenure 2028-29 on July 13. Subsequently, he will participate in the third India-EU Trade and Technology Council meeting in Brussels on July 14-15, engaging with EU and Belgian counterparts.
