The 149th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Ahmedabad is in its final stage preparations, with Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi overseeing the 16.2-kilometre procession route and security arrangements. The inspection included a review of security deployment, law and order readiness, and emergency service plans.
Sanghavi confirmed that the Rath Yatra will adhere to its traditional route, featuring three main chariots, elephants, trucks, akhadas, and bhajan mandalis. The security setup involves over 30,000 police personnel, modern technologies like AI, drones, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, and anti-drone measures for enhanced safety.
To ensure a smooth event, the police have engaged in community outreach activities and emphasized the importance of a peaceful and safe darshan for devotees. The inspection also involved recognizing children who excelled in a local drawing competition, fostering community spirit ahead of the annual religious procession.
