The Commission for Air Quality Management’s flying squads in NCR and Adjoining Areas found 62 violations during 173 inspections from June 14 to June 30. This information came to light during the 134th Enforcement Task Force meeting for reviewing enforcement actions in the National Capital Region. The inspections covered C&D sites, the industrial sector, and DG sets.
The violations included seven at C&D sites, 31 in the industrial sector, and 24 related to DG sets. Following the inspection reports, proposals were made for the closure of four units/projects, sealing of 27 DG sets, and issuance of orders for compliance. Additionally, Environmental Compensation was suggested in 17 cases.
The Enforcement Task Force also assessed actions taken after the 133rd meeting, confirming that all actionable cases in the industrial sector, C&D sector, and DG sets had been addressed. Notably, seven Resumption Orders for C&D sites were issued post-compliance verification. The Flying Squads have inspected a total of 27,750 units/projects/entities to date, resulting in the issuance of Closure Directions and Resumption Orders.
