Days after the former Home Secretary S Laxmi Narayan raised concerns about the disappearance of the gold-plated ‘Ramcharitmanas’ donated by his family to the temple, he is now pleased that it has been found and is being worshipped in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. He expressed satisfaction over its return and restoration inside the holy shrine.
S Laxmi Narayan had recently alleged negligence on the part of the Trust, claiming that the 151-kg gold-plated ‘Ramcharitmanas’ had gone missing under their watch. He specifically pointed fingers at the Trust’s general secretary Champat Rai for the mismanagement that led to the disappearance of the precious scripture.
Despite his initial disappointment with the handling of the situation, S Laxmi Narayan is now content that the ‘Ramcharitmanas’ is back in its rightful place for devotees to worship. He emphasized the importance of the state administration taking action against those responsible for tarnishing the temple’s reputation.
The former top bureaucrat highlighted his efforts to address the issue, including reaching out to prominent figures like the RSS chief and government officials for assistance. He expressed hope that the perpetrators behind the incident would be held accountable by the authorities for their actions.
