Former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa expressed confidence on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would secure a significant win in the Davanagere South and Bagalkot Assembly constituencies during the upcoming bypolls. Yediyurappa highlighted public dissatisfaction with the governance of the Congress-led state government, urging voters in both constituencies to support the BJP for a change.
Yediyurappa emphasized that the Congress’ actions have disillusioned the Muslim community, urging their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration. He criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for what he deemed as irresponsible remarks ahead of the bypolls, stating that the political climate in Karnataka favors the BJP.
The State BJP President, B.Y. Vijayendra, echoed Yediyurappa’s sentiments, accusing the Congress government of neglecting the state’s development. Vijayendra asserted that the BJP candidates would secure significant victories in both constituencies, particularly in Bagalkot, where he criticized the lack of development under Siddaramaiah’s leadership.
