Amid a leadership dispute, former Karnataka Minister and Congress MLA K.N. Rajanna has stated that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is prepared to resign if instructed by Rahul Gandhi. Rajanna’s statement is notable as he is a close ally of Siddaramaiah.
Adding to the political turmoil, Ministers Satish Jarkiholi and H.C. Mahadevappa, both linked to Siddaramaiah, have traveled to Delhi to seek clarity on the leadership issue. Rajanna highlighted the growing uncertainty within the party regarding a leadership change.
Rajanna emphasized that Siddaramaiah is willing to continue as Chief Minister but is also ready to step down if the party’s high command directs him to do so. The former minister noted Siddaramaiah’s open-minded approach towards the situation and his willingness to follow Rahul Gandhi’s decisions.
Siddaramaiah, as per Rajanna, has expressed his commitment to abide by Rahul Gandhi’s directives and expects support from party members. Rajanna stressed the importance of resolving the ongoing confusion for the benefit of Karnataka and urged the party leadership to address the issue promptly.
Rajanna expressed faith in the party’s high command, stating that Siddaramaiah has affirmed his compliance with Rahul Gandhi’s instructions. He underlined that power is transient and highlighted the need for unity within the party.
