A tragic incident in Nasrapur, Maharashtra, where a four-year-old girl was brutally assaulted and murdered, has caused widespread outrage. The victim, visiting her grandmother for summer holidays, was lured away by a 65-year-old man who promised to show her a calf. He assaulted and killed her in a cowshed, sparking tension in the area.
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar visited the victim’s family in Pune to offer condolences and ensure swift justice. The family and local residents demanded immediate trial and strict punishment for the perpetrator. In response to public outcry, Sunetra Pawar contacted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who promised fast-tracking the case and taking stringent action against the accused.
The accused, arrested by Pune Rural Police, was remanded to police custody until May 7. Chief Minister Fadnavis condemned the act, calling it a “blot on humanity,” and vowed to seek the death penalty for the accused. He ordered increased police patrols in the Bhor region to reassure residents and ensure a thorough investigation.
