FWICE President BN Tiwari has expressed concerns regarding Diljit Dosanjh’s film “Satluj.” Tiwari emphasized that actors should prioritize their societal impact and public image over financial gains when choosing roles. He mentioned that if a film raises issues in society, it should be scrutinized, even if it has passed censorship.
Tiwari further stated that once a film clears censorship, it should not face reconsideration unless there are serious concerns about misinformation or social disharmony. He questioned the need for ongoing reviews after the necessary cuts have been made. Tiwari also advised Dosanjh to be cautious about selecting controversial projects to safeguard his reputation as a Punjabi superstar with a global fan base.
The film “Satluj,” directed by Honey Trehan, revolves around human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Despite premiering on ZEE5 in India, the movie was unexpectedly removed from the platform. ZEE5 announced the temporary unavailability of “Satluj” in India, citing ongoing developments. The streaming service assured viewers of their commitment to resolving the situation and praised the film’s creative vision.
