French President Emmanuel Macron is set to visit India from February 17 to 19 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs. Macron will participate in the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi on February 19 and engage in discussions with PM Modi to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors outlined in the Horizon 2047 Roadmap.
The India-AI Impact Summit 2026, introduced by PM Modi during the France AI Action Summit, is scheduled for February 19-20 in New Delhi. The leaders will also deliberate on regional and global matters of common interest, including collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region. Additionally, they will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation in Mumbai, commemorating the innovation partnership throughout 2026 in both nations.
Macron’s visit follows PM Modi’s trip to France in February 2025, emphasizing the strong Strategic Partnership and the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen it. Macron had conveyed warm wishes to PM Modi and the people of India on Republic Day, confirming his upcoming visit to India in February to advance bilateral ties.
In a show of camaraderie, Macron shared a photo with PM Modi from their Jaipur visit in 2024, expressing his excitement for their upcoming meeting in February. The two leaders had previously met on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, where they discussed various issues, highlighting the positive impact of India-France relations globally.
PM Modi and Macron had a phone conversation in September, reviewing progress in bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on international and regional matters, including efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Both leaders reiterated the significance of the India-France Strategic Partnership in promoting global peace and stability.
